Nutcracker Short & Suite

Join us on Sunday, December 15th at 2pm or 4pm for our 5th annual Nutcracker Short & Suite!

The Village Dance Studio, in partnership with the LIFT program at Grace Church, brings you excerpts from The Nutcracker, a holiday classic ballet. This performance is sensory-friendly and a community outreach initiative to bring dance performance to all abilities. The house lights will be slightly raised, sound will be adjusted (lower at 2pm for those with sensory needs and higher at 4pm for those hard of hearing), various traditional and non-traditional seating options, and a movement space will be open in the back for anyone who wants to dance along.
Tickets are $8 for youth (3-12); $12 for adults (13+) OR $40 for Group of 6 (any age)

About the 2pm show:
Lights will be raised for both shows. The music will be lowered for the 2pm show to accomodate individuals with sensory needs.
Guests are invited to stay after the show for a chance to get your photos with the dancers on the stage.
Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

About the 4pm show:
Lights will be raised for both shows. The music will be raised for the 4pm show to accomodate individuals with hearing difficulties.

Even though I could probably recite most of the film from memory, every year, with glee in my heart, I watch “A Christmas Story.” As much as I love this movie, however, it is not enough alone to get me through the Christmas season. […]

Connecting with food during the holidays (Recipe: Honey Glazed Biscuits)

Food is a connector for me. Coming from a large family, get-together’s almost always equal food, and I can’t say that I’m mad about it. In my family Thanksgiving is the epicenter of good eats. Turkey, Cornbread dressing, Buttered Rolls, Sweet Potatoes, you name it–it’s there. Many of these recipes are family favorites and standbys […]
